The fourth Asia Pacific Youth Exchange (APYE), which aims to provide young people with the tools they need to accomplish the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations, has started in Thailand.
I was selected from Bangladesh to join in the 4th Asia Pacific Youth Exchange program jointly organized by Urban Youth Academy & UNDP Thailand held from July 08-20, 2018, at Bangkok, Thailand. In the conference 150 selected delegates attended from 21 countries.

The program was inaugurated by M.L. Panadda Diskul, Assistant Minister to the Prime Minister of Thailand. The program’s goal is to help young people in the Asia-Pacific area realise their potential and give them a place to practise social entrepreneurship.

We attended the leadership training which increased my knowledge and skills. After one week of leadership training, we moved to the local immersion site. We met with the local community and designed innovative solution to address their problem.

In the competition, our team comprise members from India, China, Vietnam & Cambodia won the 1st prize from his Excellency Mr. Ml. Panadda Ditsakul, Deputy Minister – Ministry of Education, Thailand & Dr. Haninam kim, Founder of Urban Youth Academy for designing innovative projects called Trash4cash for social and community development.

We also attended the culture programs. It was a great learning experience for me. I think youth should participate such kind of program to develop global knowledge, skills, attitudes and establishing collaboration with foreign people.
